 Laura Goodwin has over twenty-five years of successful professional fitness experience. Certified Exercise Physiologist and wellness coach, she focuses on her clients physical, mental, and spiritual health as an interconnected body.

Ms. Goodwin has monitored phase IV cardiac rehabilitation program included telemetry, readings of EKGs, and development of patient/client protocols at Herald Square Fitness, Inc., Exercise Physiologist.

 

Her path led her to Salomon Brothers Executive Fitness Center, as an Assistant Manager and Fitness Specialist where she helped designed the 7 World Trade Center. There she trained top–level executives, from fortune 500 companies, on an individual basis. Performed fitness evaluations and exercise tolerance stress tests. Also, there is where she met her biggest challenge, a young investment banker “The Central Park Jogger” - where through tough training and a warm approach she was able to assist her in her rehab. 

She left to move on to Home Box Office Corporate Fitness Center, as Fitness Manager/Specialist. At HBO she created company wide health and fitness seminars including health fairs in which over 2500 employees received fitness evaluations and consultations. 

While at HBO, Laura also worked at Columbia University, as a Strength and Conditioning Coach and instructed Olympic lifting technique and Plyo-metrics. 

It was in 1998 that Ms. Goodwin followed her dream to leave Corporate America to design and own her own Full service 14,000 square foot Fitness Facility. The Training Academy, Inc., located in Fort Greene Brooklyn, New York; it was at that time she specialized in public speaking, marketing, facility design, and management and served over 1500 members, for over 6 years. 

Laura was honored with the Crain’s New York “Top 40 Business Owner’s Under 40” award of 2003, and many others. Due to 911 her club closed, it was located only 8 miles from “Ground Zero”. 

Ms. Goodwin re entered the corporate work force as an Exercise Specialist at CORE: in 2005 and was promoted in 2009 to Fitness Manager and Gym Design Specialist. The Core Club, is a Billionaire social club at 56th St in Manhattan New York. 

Ms. Laura Goodwin moved to Warwick Rhode Island and became the Fitness and Wellness Director at Healthtrax in Warwick the Care New England Wellness Center in 2009. She left in 2014 and since opened a private studio space “EmpowerRI” Wellness, within the Heart and Hand Wellness Center in Historic Pawtuxet Village Rhode Island; She is also working with some of Rhode Island top fitness companies currently. Laura has presented a pleasure to accommodate all your fitness needs.
